Out in the Field!
I was delighted to be asked by the GB Biathlon Team to go out to Ostersund and help with their preparation to the run up to the Biathlon World Championships held in Sweden.
This is a tough event with the elite athletes under enormous pressure. I was able to provide sessions tailored to meet each athlete’s unique requirements and work within the contexts of such a prestigious race!
For the Tour de Force charity events in 2013, 2014 and 2016 I was present for 3 and a half weeks as part of the general / therapy support Team for up to 70 cyclists doing the Tour de France route a week ahead of the official Tour.
I helped to keep them on their way and reduce any injuries and cope with the stresses and strains after each day’s riding. It really helped to be part of the Team, join in the social side and be prepared for anything!
The infamous West Highland Way Race held in midsummer each year is a 95 trail race taking up to 35 Hours to complete. On hand for 18 hours at the finish in Fort William I provided post race sports massages to help the brave runners feel more comfortable and aid their recovery.
Like all races I’m involved I really join in the social side of the events and the West Highland Way ‘Family’! This is one event I shall be very pleased to support again.
In addition to the above events I have also been fortunate enough to provide services at some other fantastic sporting events.
I’ve massaged and given support to the hardiest of competitors in all weathers and conditions!
Please do get in touch with me to discuss how I might support your event. I appreciate every event is unique and has it’s own ethos so I’m very happy to be flexible to meet your needs.
Other events I have attended include:
- The Glencoe Marathon
- Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon
- Devil o’ the Highlands
